Job summary

Hall & Woodhouse is seeking a Shift Leader for The Plough, near Southampton, part of the Hall & Woodhouse family. The role offers £13.70 per hour plus tips, with a 60% meals discount while on duty and a clear career progression to General Manager within the group.

You will join a warm, supportive team in a Sunday Times Best Places to Work company, with a five‑day week structure and a focus on guest experience and community presence.

Qualifications

• A shift leader or assistant manager who is kind, calm and approachable (shortlisted).
• Confident overseeing opening/closing, safety and security procedures.
• Well-presented, detail‑focused and professional.
• Willing to support the GM in coaching and developing the team.
• Logical, organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Driven to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Able to work days, evenings and weekends and reliably manage the commute.
• A natural host who loves creating day making moments.
• Looking for an employer that recognizes and rewards talent.
• Experienced in hospitality, ideally with supervisory experience in a busy food-led environment.
