Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking a Team Leader Mechanical Technician to join the Velindre Cancer Centre team in Wales. This role is based at Velindre, with a Continental shift pattern of 4 On / 4 Off (days and nights) and a 40-hour week, supporting safe operation of mechanical systems in a specialist healthcare setting.

You will lead the engineering shift, plan maintenance, diagnose faults, and coordinate with clinical teams, ensuring minimal disruption to patient services.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within a complex or regulated environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and coordinate others during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering shift by coordinating planned, reactive and emergency maintenance activities.
• Maintain mechanical systems including heating, ventilation, water systems and gas services.
• Provide shift handovers and communicate with clinical teams and stakeholders.
