Job summary

Speedibake is seeking a maintenance leader to manage the output of the shift team at the Bradford site. You will drive safety, quality and cost, and work with the operations team to resolve daily issues and ensure smooth plant performance.

You will lead by example on Health and Safety, coach colleagues, and coordinate with suppliers, contractors and multi-functional teams on CI initiatives to minimise downtime and improve safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience, ideally in an FMCG or similar industry.
• Mechanical or electrical engineering background with knowledge of various engineering disciplines.
• Experience of managing site projects.
• Experience of managing contractors and contractor control.
• Team player able to integrate into a fast-paced, high-pressure results driven environment.
• Health and Safety knowledge.
• Problem solving to high standards.
• Organization and prioritization skills.
• Sound decision making skills.
• Computer literate.
• Knowledge of Bakery Production and Processes.
• Maintenance Techniques and Philosophies.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with suppliers on plant or machine issues and updating of documentation / drawings as required.
• Proactive involvement in Project work, including the installation and commissioning of machines and equipment within authorised skill level.
• Positively influence the change management process, driving engineering culture to world class performance.
• Support and coach other employees in all aspects of shared maintenance to achieve operational and personal targets.
• To work with, or lead, multi-functional teams on CI initiatives using agreed techniques to improve production processes and plant design to minimise downtime and improve safety and quality performance.
• To undertake training and up-skilling programs as directed by business needs and to keep abreast of technological advancements and maintain skill level.
• Ensure an in-depth handover is provided to oncoming shift, to incl. engineering, manufacturing, or stores issues.
• Provide as required 24/7 engineering cover to support the bakery.
• Manage contractors to ensure relevant standards are met with due regard to safety, hygiene and quality, ATW & permits to work.
