Job summary

Swindon Borough Council is seeking two Sheltered Housing Officers to join the Housing Team. You will deliver high-quality housing management and housing-related support across sheltered housing schemes, building safe, welcoming communities where residents can live independently.

You will manage tenancy activities, wellbeing checks, alarm systems and safety inspections, and work with Adult Social Care and partners to safeguard residents. Salary £33,673 p.a.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering housing management, sheltered or supported housing services.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication, customer service and relationship-building with older residents.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and safeguarding practices is desirable.
• Willingness to learn property, estate or health and safety inspections.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive housing management across sheltered schemes.
• Conduct inductions, viewings, tenancy sustainment and wellbeing checks.
• Manage alarm systems, safety/compliance checks and scheme inspections.
• Collaborate with Adult Social Care and partner agencies to coordinate interventions.
• Respond to enquiries and complaints, using data to improve services.
