Job summary

All Souls Serve the City (ASSTC) seeks a Shelter Relief Coordinator for the ASLAN Faith and Volunteer Network Night Shelter. You will coordinate shelter operations, supervise volunteers, and ensure a safe, respectful environment for guests and staff across Westminster, Camden and other sites.

The role requires experience with homelessness, safeguarding, and strong interpersonal skills. A Christ-centered approach and ability to work unsupervised are essential for this position.

• Experience working with people who are homeless or vulnerable adults.
• Proven interpersonal skills to motivate and support others.
• Experience in safeguarding and handling sensitive information.
• Strong written and oral communication and computer literacy.
• Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Assist Shelter manager to organise and coordinate operational delivery of the FVN shelter.
• Be present at venues for daily shifts with the shelter manager and relief coordinators.
• Ensure smooth running of the shelter and resolve issues calmly.
• Manage each shift's volunteers ensuring safety of guests and volunteers.
• Induct new volunteers and guests into the shelter setting.
• Collaborate with referring agencies and shelter teams to meet guest needs.
• Collect data and manage safeguarding concerns.
• Work with venue volunteer coordinators and build respectful relationships with guests.
