Job summary

Peace Recruitment Group is seeking a Setting Out Engineer to support major infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will join a well-established civil contractor, delivering accurate setting out, surveying, and QA across earthworks, roads, drainage, and structures.

The role requires HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering, plus proven setting out experience and a UK driving license. You’ll work with GPS/total station equipment and collaborate with Site Agents and Project Managers.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Setting out experience in civil engineering is required.
• Experience in earthworks, drainage, roads, concrete, utilities or infrastructure is desirable.
• Proficiency with GPS and total station equipment is important.
• Strong reading of construction drawings and specifications; good communication skills; valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Set out and survey works across civil engineering projects.
• Establish and maintain site control and QA records.
• Use GPS, total stations and surveying equipment.
• Interpret drawings and specifications; ensure works follow programme.
• Support site team with technical queries and liaise with subcontractors.
