Job summary

RTL Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a major highways drainage package in Scotland.

The role focuses on delivering setting out, drainage runs and associated infrastructure across the site, with strong emphasis on interpretation of drawings and site plans. The candidate will work closely with Site Agents, Engineers and subcontractors, ensuring quality, health and safety compliance and accurate as-built records throughout an 18-month contract in Perthshire.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in Scotland, supporting the delivery of the drainage package.

The Role

• Delivering setting out and engineering duties across the drainage package.
• Setting out drainage runs, manholes, chambers and associated infrastructure.
• Interpreting construction drawings, specifications and site plans.
• Ensuring works are delivered accurately and in line with project specifications.
• Conducting as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records.
• Working closely with Site Agents, Site Engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team.
• Monitoring quality, progress and compliance with health and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civil engineering or highways projects.
• Strong experience delivering drainage packages.
• Proficient in setting out using surveying equipment such as GPS and total stations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or demonstrable equivalent experience.

Contract Details

• Rate: £350-£450 per day, depending on experience.
• Start: ASAP.
• Duration: 18 months.
• Location: Scotland, Perthshire area.
• Accommodation and a vehicle may be available!
