Job summary

RTL Group in Windsor, Berkshire is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a residential groundworks package on a housing development. The role covers setting out plots, foundations, roads, drainage and external works, with on-site coordination and adherence to drawings.

You will read and interpret civil engineering drawings, use total stations, GPS and levelling equipment, establish control points and maintain site records.

Qualifications

Setting Out Engineer - Residential Groundworks Location: Windsor, Berkshire Salary/Day Rate: Negotiable, dependent on experience Contract: Full-time We are currently seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a residential groundworks package on a housing development in Windsor. The successful candidate must have proven experience in residential groundworks and be confident setting out plots, foundations, roads, drainage and associated infrastructure works. Key Responsibilities

• Setting out house plots, foundations, roads, sewers, drainage and external works. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and construction plans. Using total stations, GPS and levelling equipment to carry out accurate setting out. Establishing and maintaining site control points, datums and benchmarks. Checking excavation depths, foundation levels, finished floor levels and drainage gradients. Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records. Liaising with site managers, groundworkers and subcontractors to coordinate daily activities.
• Identifying discrepancies between drawings and site conditions. Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and health and safety requirements.
• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on residential groundworks packages. Strong knowledge of foundations, plot setting out, roads, sewers and drainage. Competent in the use of total stations, GPS and levelling equipment. Ability to read and interpret civil engineering and infrastructure drawings. Must hold a valid CSCS card. Own transport and ability to commute to the Windsor site. Available to start in line with project requirements.
