Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection LTD is recruiting a Setting Out Engineer for civils projects across Home Counties and Northamptonshire.

You will set out and survey on site, work with the Site Manager, and produce essential documentation to ensure work aligns with drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Have a proven track record as a Setting Out Engineer within the civils market.
• Be able to use AUTOCAD and read technical drawings from architects.
• Applicants on the books or self employed considered (ideally on the books).
• Hold a BTEC or Level 3 qualification in civil engineering or surveying; HNC/HND/Degree welcome.
• Need a full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works on site.
• Working closely with the Site Manager and wider construction team.
• Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs, RFIs and other project documentation.
• Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and approved procedures.
• Checking levels, dimensions and quality of completed works.
• Maintaining accurate site records and engineering documentation.
• Assisting with technical queries and resolving site issues.
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and project management teams.
• Monitoring construction activities and ensuring they are completed to the required standards.
• Providing technical support and guidance to site teams.
• Identifying potential issues and assisting with practical solutions.
• Ensuring health, safety and quality requirements are maintained throughout the works.

• Setting out and surveying works on site

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Setting Out Engineer - Civil Engineering, Surveying, Groundworks

• Working on infrastructure, commercial and residential groundwork across main contractors, developers and major house builders
• Completing site surveys and essential site preparation
• Working on multiple projects across the Home Counties and Northamptonshire

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Setting Out Engineer - Civil Engineering, Surveying, Groundworks

• Have a proven track record as a Setting Out Engineer within the civils market
• Preferably have residential / housing experience
• Be able to use AUTOCAD and read technical drawings from architects
• Be either on the books or self employed, would consider both (ideally on the books)
• You will hold a BTEC or Level 3 qualification in civil engineering or surveying, but we welcome applicants who have a HNC, HND or Degree in civil engineering or surveying
• You will need a full clean driving license
