Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is recruiting an experienced civils site Setting Out Engineer for the housing sector in the Home Counties/Northamptonshire. You will set out and survey on site, work with the Site Manager and wider team to ensure accuracy and compliance with drawings and procedures.

The role requires producing RAMS, ITPs and RFIs, reviewing project documentation, and maintaining site records. A BTEC Level 3, HNC/HND or degree in civil engineering or surveying and proficiency in AUTOCAD are

Qualifications

• Proven setting out experience in civils projects.
• Residential housing experience preferred.
• Proficient in AUTOCAD and reading technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying works on site.

My client is looking for an experienced civils site Setting Out Engineer, working within the housing market. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the biggest civils companies in the Home Counties.

BASIC SALARY:

£55,000 - £60,000 - dependant on experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Setting Out Engineer - Civil Engineering, Surveying, Groundworks

As our Setting Out Engineer you will be:

• Setting out and surveying works on site
• Working closely with the Site Manager and wider construction team
• Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs, RFIs and other project documentation
• Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and approved procedures
• Checking levels, dimensions and quality of completed works
• Maintaining accurate site records and engineering documentation
• Assisting with technical queries and resolving site issues
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and project management teams
• Monitoring construction activities and ensuring they are completed to the required standards
• Providing technical support and guidance to site teams
• Identifying potential issues and assisting with practical solutions
• Ensuring health, safety and quality requirements are maintained throughout the works

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As our Setting Out Engineer, you will be:

• Working on infrastructure, commercial and residential groundwork across main contractors, developers and major house builders
• Completing site surveys and essential site preparation
• Working on multiple projects across the Home Counties and Northamptonshire

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Setting Out Engineer - Civil Engineering, Surveying, Groundworks

To be successful in your application, you must :

• Have a proven track record as a Setting Out Engineer within the civils market
• Preferably have residential / housing experience
• Be able to use AUTOCAD and read technical drawings from architects
• Be either on the books or self employed, would consider both (ideally on the books)
• You will hold a BTEC or Level 3 qualification in civil engineering or surveying, but we welcome applicants who have a HNC, HND or Degree in civil engineering or surveying
• You will need a full clean driving license
