Job summary

phs Group plc in Exeter is seeking a Service Manager to lead a large team of service drivers at our Exeter Operation Centre. You will support the Centre Manager, manage productivity, plan resources, and ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance across the depot and vehicles.

The role requires strong leadership, transport experience, and a focus on customer service, with a commitment to health and safety and effective team development.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years management experience within the operations/transport logistics sector.
• Transport management experience / CPC preferred but not essential.
• Energetic and inspirational manager with proven ability to lead teams to meet customer expectations.
• Hold a valid, full driving licence for at least 12 months (max 6 points).
• Understand Health & Safety in the workplace, preferably IOSH trained.
• Customer focused.
• Resource and time management skills.
• Previous transport experience essential.
• Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
• IT skills required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager in managing productivity levels of the depot to retain high service standards.
• Resource planning and supporting development of service team members.
• Ensure all processes and procedures follow relevant legislation and Health & Safety policies.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are checked and maintained for safety.
