Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role

Our home – Kirkdale House

We are all independent in our own ways here at Kirkdale.

We all require support in a variety of ways: one‑to‑one calls, shopping calls, domestic calls, medication calls, drop‑off/pick‑up to day services, cuppa and a chat, accessing the community for activities, etc.

What is important to us

We take pride in our achievements and how far we have come to live independently in supported living. We enjoy a wide range of activities: gym, arts and crafts, football, jujitsu, dancing, acting, singing, discos, karaoke, time with friends and family, and much more.

Our Home

We live in a large, supported living accommodation that is all one level, apart from the manager’s office which is up a set of stairs. Our flats are on the ground floor in different zones. We have a large garden that goes around the outer building, with a special patch we tend to in the summer.

With experience working in a health or social care setting, you will have an upbeat positive manner and a genuine passion for supporting people to become part of their local and wider community. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your leadership skills while making a meaningful impact every day, supporting people to “Live Lives Bolder”.

You will also be comfortable using basic IT systems required within the role – training can be offered to support this area. You should hold a professional qualification in Health and Social Care, i.e. Nurse, Social Worker, SVQ Level 3 plus supervisory units (Scotland) / Care Management Level 3 (England).

Your values

This is a great opportunity to make a genuine difference, where you will be responsible for leading an engaged and motivated team to change lives and deliver person‑centred outcomes for every person we support. You will also lead by driving performance, setting the pace and direction within services, promoting a positive and passionate culture, and ensuring that services are appropriately and effectively resourced to change lives for the better. Naturally it is important that you share our company values: We Include, We Deliver, We Aspire, We Respect, We Enable – at the heart of everything we do to deliver high quality, consistent care and support.

People’s values are important to use, so we look for people with the following qualities:

  • Patience
  • Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others
  • A strong work ethic
  • Reliability
  • Honesty
  • Determination
  • A problem solver
  • Resilience
