Job description

Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Installation Engineer required to join a leading compressed air supplier.

The successful candidate will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance on compressed air equipment at customer sites across West Midlands & South West UK. Full product training will be provided.

Ideal candidates will have a background in electrical and/or mechanical engineering, with experience in compressors, filtration, pneumatics, hydraulics, nitrogen generators, pipework, vacuum pumps, vacuum systems, valves, rotating equipment, or similar compressed air-related equipment.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance of compressed air equipment at customer sites.
  • Undertake planned and preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and fault finding on compressed air systems, vacuum pumps, blowers & dryers, nitrogen generators, and other related products.
  • Maintain, repair, and install air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers & dryers, nitrogen generators, and other pneumatic equipment across the South West, Devon, and surrounding areas.
  • Install compressed air/water & nitrogen pipelines into various manufacturing industries.
  • Perform emergency breakdown repairs and fault finding.
  • Liaise with engineering departments as needed.
Requirements
  • Proven diagnostic skills on complex electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Technician, or similar role, preferably with compressors, pneumatics, hydraulics, or related equipment.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Good knowledge of three-phase electrics and controls is advantageous.
  • Background in servicing compressors, filtration, pneumatics, hydraulics, nitrogen generators, pipework, vacuum pumps, valves, motors, or similar equipment is advantageous; full training provided.
  • Technical qualifications such as an apprenticeship, HNC, HND, or Degree are beneficial.
  • Home-based role with willingness to travel.
