Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking a Service Designer to join a high-profile digital transformation programme in the public sector. You will lead service design across complex digital services, delivering artefacts like blueprints, personas and journey maps, within a multidisciplinary Agile team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering service design within complex environments.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end service design and user-centred design methodologies.
• Experience producing service blueprints, personas, journey maps, user flows and other key design deliverables.
• Ability to visualise and communicate complex services spanning multiple business areas.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
• Comfortable working within multidisciplinary Agile teams.

Location: Worthing or Telford (2 days onsite per week)
Rate: Up to £470 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract Length: 6 months
Clearance: BPSS eligible required

We're looking for an experienced Service Designer to join a high-profile digital transformation programme, helping to shape and deliver user-centred public services that are simpler, faster and more effective.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll collaborate closely with user researchers, interaction designers, content designers, performance analysts, developers, policy specialists and stakeholders to design end-to-end services that deliver measurable outcomes for users and the organisation.

What you'll be doing

What we're looking for

• Proven experience delivering service design within complex environments

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
• Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and accessibility best practice
• Comfortable working within multidisciplinary Agile teams
• Ability to influence, challenge constructively and drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups
• Experience coaching others and embedding design best practice

Desirable

• Knowledge or experience of CESA
• Experience working on large-scale government or public sector digital programmes
• Familiarity with GDS service standards and design approaches
