Opus Recruitment Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Service Designer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role covers UK-wide projects with hybrid working options and requires active SC clearance.

You will shape and improve user journeys across complex services, collaborating with researchers, analysts and delivery teams to deliver measurable service improvements. You will create service blueprints and journey maps, facilitate workshops, and champion accessibility and best-practice

Formación

• Proven experience as a Service Designer in complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of Human-Centred Design and Government Digital Service (GDS) principles.
• Experience producing service blueprints, journey maps and design artefacts.

Service Designer | £65,000 + Benefits | 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | UK Wide / Hybrid SC Clearance Required

Are you passionate about creating user-centred services that deliver meaningful outcomes? We're supporting a major UK consultancy on the search for an experienced Service Designer to join a high-profile programme delivering complex digital transformation projects across the public sector.

This is an opportunity to work on large-scale initiatives that impact thousands of users, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design seamless, accessible and effective services from end to end.

Due to the nature of the work, active SC Clearance is required. Applications from candidates who do not currently hold SC Clearance cannot be considered.

The Role

As a Service Designer, you will play a key role in shaping and improving user journeys across complex services, ensuring solutions meet both user needs and organisational objectives.

You'll work alongside user researchers, business analysts, product managers, delivery teams and stakeholders to understand challenges, identify opportunities and deliver evidence-based service improvements.

About You

We're looking for someone who can combine design thinking, stakeholder engagement and strategic problem-solving.

• Proven experience working as a Service Designer within complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of Human-Centred Design and Government Digital Service (GDS) principles.
• Experience producing service blueprints, journey maps and design artefacts.
• Skilled at facilitating workshops and managing a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary Agile teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive service improvements.
• Public sector, central government or defence experience.
• Experience working within large-scale digital transformation programmes.

Familiarity with accessibility standards and service assessments.
