Job summary

A managed services provider is looking for a Service Design Architect to design effective managed service solutions for clients. This home-based role involves evaluating customer needs and collaborating with sales and technical teams to ensure service solutions meet commercial and technical requirements. Candidates should have a strong background in IT managed services and experience in designing large-scale service solutions. The position offers an annual salary of £60,000 - £62,500 plus a car allowance and other incentives.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in UK IT managed services, ideally covering Modern Workplace, End User Services, Networks, Infrastructure/Cloud, UC and Security.
  • Experience designing managed service/outsourcing solutions and leading bids worth £100k–£10m+.
  • ITIL certification with good knowledge of service delivery best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer requirements and design appropriate service solutions.
  • Support sales meetings and present proposals to technical teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Lead the design process and ensure solutions can be delivered effectively.
  • Produce documentation, proposals and commercial models for approval.
  • Manage risk, assumptions and service validation through to handover into operations.
  • Contribute to ongoing service development and cost modelling.

The Role

Our client is a managed services provider delivering cybersecurity, communications and connectivity solutions. For more than 20 years, they have supported UK organisations with reliable, scalable services designed around customer needs.

They are recruiting a Service Design Architect to join their pre‑sales function. The role is responsible for designing managed service solutions across monitoring, hardware and software support, service desk, remote management and service improvement. Working alongside sales and technical specialists, you will create solutions that are commercially viable, technically sound and aligned to customer requirements.

This is a home‑based role in a fast‑moving environment. It offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and play a central role in shaping service solutions for new and existing customers.

Key responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer requirements and design appropriate service solutions
