Job Summary:

The QRC in Newark specializes in the supply and overhaul of valves and controls for the oil, gas, power, water, and chemical industries, among others. Many of the valves are automated to customer specifications in our well-equipped workshop. Our products have a high-quality standard. Due to increasing activities and growth, we are looking for a Planner / Estimator.

The role of the Planner / Estimator is to be the primary contact for repair and service activities. Working with the QRC Operations Team, the Planner executes the commercial functions to communicate with customers and meet their needs. Responsibilities include answering technical and commercial questions, providing sound and competitive quotations for repair/service and turnaround jobs, problem-solving related to valve repair, hosting visitors, and traveling approximately 30%. This role occasionally requires working near moving mechanical machines and parts.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare professional quotations for repair and service for all Flowserve customers, working with multiple groups within Flowserve.
  2. Respond promptly to all viable service and repair quotation opportunities.
  3. Review all service and repair orders for accuracy and completeness, resolving issues to ensure proper order entry.
  4. Enter orders accurately, ensuring clean Order Transfer files are provided to Planning on time.
  5. Coordinate with the Commercial Operations Team on the approval of purchase orders and contracts, including sales approval and resolution of terms and conditions issues according to Flowserve guidelines.
  6. Work closely with Outside Sales to enhance communication, repair pursuit, collaboration, and sales efforts.
  7. Communicate daily with customers regarding in-house repair and field services, and provide reports as needed.
  8. Prepare as-found condition reports based on technician feedback, coordinating with internal stakeholders for proper documentation and quotation details.
  9. Comply with Flowserve goals, objectives, and policies.
  10. Support turnaround efforts by gathering data, researching valves, and assisting with estimates when a Turnaround Support Project Manager is not available.
  11. Travel to customer sites for inspections or surveys, coordinating with Field Service and QRC Operations teams.
  12. Train customers in maintenance and servicing in coordination with the Training division.
  13. Clarify warranty claims and support factories to enhance customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or 3-4 years of related customer service experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Preferably experience in automated valve technology and service.
  • Experience in offer preparation and processing.
  • Good English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Willing to work overtime as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Internet, and willingness to learn new software; Oracle and ERP experience are beneficial.
  • Valve and actuation shop experience is advantageous.
