Job summary

Hunter Knight Recruitment Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a Service Advisor to join a busy workshop team. You will take bookings, load work into the system, and keep customers informed about vehicle status.

This role offers a base salary of £32,598–£33,575 with a commitment bonus and an uncapped opportunity to earn more through service-contract bonuses. A £600 yearly commitment bonus is paid in two instalments. Training and career progression are provided by a leading brand.

Responsibilities

• Take telephone bookings from customers and load them into the workshop system.
• Optimize workshop loading to maximise capacity at all times.
• Raise job cards and prepare all necessary and compliant documentation.
• Inform customers of ongoing vehicle status.
• Enter additions/changes to the customer database.
• Advise on warranties and service requirements and arrange MOTs.

SERVICE ADVISOR

OTE £40,000++

Hours of work: Mon-Fri 07:00-16:00, 08.00-18.00 and 09:00-18:00 Saturdays 08:00-13:00 on rota

Salary: £32,598 - £33,575+ commitment bonus for all employees - which is linked to attendance and general performance and equates to £600 a year divided into two £300 payments every 6 months for qualifying employees.

Opportunity to earn bonus on service contracts, uncapped opportunity to earn hundreds of pounds a month doing this with retail van customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Taking telephone bookings from customers and accurately loading them into the workshop
• Effective use of workshop loading to ensure capacity is maximized at all times
• Raising job cards and ensuring all necessary and compliant documentation forms parts of the job pack
• Informing customers of their ongoing vehicle status
• Entering additions/changes to customer database
• Handing over finished vehicles to customersGiving customers detailed explanations on extent of repairs
• Monitoring whether repairs are being carried out to the required delivery time
• Actively sell after-sales services to include Service Contracts
• Discussing and arranging payment with customers
• Booking in of vehicles to ensure continuity of workshop loading
• Provide advice on warranties and service requirements
• In the case of legally required inspections, explaining the necessary vehicle test requirements
• Arrange schedules for MOT/Vehicle inspections

Key Performance Measures

• Effectively and politely liaising with customers regarding their vehicle’s status, payment and repairs
• Accurate booking of customer vehicles into the workshop
• Monitoring repair times and communicating back to customer in a timely fashion
