Job summary

Barnardo's Rochdale project seeks a friendly, organised Administrator to provide first‑point contact and high‑quality administrative support. You will assist with financials, filing, data management and respond to enquiries, while ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance.

Strong IT skills and excellent communication are essential. You will join a committed team delivering services for children, young people and families, with 16.5 hours per week on a permanent contract and a salary of

Responsibilities

  • Financial management including ordering materials, grant allocations and payroll checks.
  • Organise and monitor service recording file rooms for clarity and order.
  • Data management and GDPR/compliance oversight.
  • Respond to enquiries via phone or email and provide admin support to team.
  • Support Health & Safety tasks and confidential information handling.
  • Take minutes and provide administrative support across IT applications.

Barnardo's Rochdale and Bury services (these services are SENDIASS and Short breaks) are looking for a friendly, organised and professionalAdministrator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting children, young people and families by providing a welcoming first point of contact and high-quality administrative support for our services and its users.

As the first point of contact for visitors, parents, carers and partner agencies, you will help create a positive and inclusive experience for everyone accessing our services.

Admin roles include but are not limited to:

  • Financial management to include; ordering service materials, allocation of grants, checking payroll reports, overseeing the profit and loss reports to highlight any anomolies.
  • Organise and monitor our service recording file rooms, ensuring clarity and order in our files across all areas of our service,
  • Strong understanding of GDPR to support the management of our documents.
  • Data management and compliance oversight
  • Supporting the Team manager wiht statistics for contract reports
  • Able to respond and offer help to enquiries either via phone or email.
  • Health & Safety tasks related to our building/office.
  • An understanding that within admin roles you are privy to confidential information and maintaining confidentiality at all times when required is essential.
  • Administrative support to the team.
  • Using a wide variety of IT applications.
  • Proven office administration skills, including minute taking.
  • Experience of service user records administration.

The salary range advertised is in line withour pay principles, for consistency and fairness while recognising the skills and experience applicants bring to the role. Appointing salaries can be discussed further at appointment stage; we do seek to appoint within this range always exercising responsible stewardship.

Barnardo's require colleagues to be UK residents, based in the UK and to complete their roles from within the UK (with the exception of colleagues providing Barnardo's services in Jersey and colleagues who live in the Republic of Ireland providing services in Northern Ireland)

  • Annual Leave entitlement for full-time colleagues is 26 days per annum, increasing to 27 days per annum, after 3 years Barnardo's service, 29 days per annum, after 5 years Barnardo's service and 30 days per annum, after 7 years Barnardo's service. Those working less than full time are entitled to the same level of holiday pro rata
