Job summary

We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable, family-run motor retail group in Gloucester for the position of Workshop Controller. The successful candidate will lead a busy service department, ensuring efficient workshop operations and top customer service.

Competitive salary around £35,000 with uncapped bonuses potentially taking earnings to £44,000. In-house and manufacturer training support long-term career development within a growing group.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing an automotive workshop or similar leadership role in a franchise dealership.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills with a results-driven mindset.
• Excellent communication and customer-service focus, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead the workshop team of approximately seven technicians.
• Liaise with the Service Manager to optimise workshop efficiency and processes.
• Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated effectively.
• Monitor productivity to meet KPIs and allocate work based on skill levels.
• Coordinate between workshop and service reception to track vehicle progress.
• Maintain workshop standards in line with health and safety regulations and brand requirements.
• Uphold customer satisfaction standards and ensure service quality.
