Job summary

Pembrook Resourcing LTD has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Workshop Controller in Newbury. You will oversee day-to-day workshop operations, allocate technician workloads, monitor progress and drive productivity within a busy dealership environment.

The role offers a £35,000 basic salary with an indicated £45,000 OTE, plus a structured bonus potential. Monday–Friday working hours and enhanced benefits are to be confirmed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller within a main dealership environment, or in a similar senior workshop role.
• Strong understanding of workshop operations and technician workflow.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workloads and prioritise tasks effectively.
• A proactive approach to improving productivity and efficiency.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to support and motivate a team.
• A professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
• Allocate work to technicians according to their skills, experience and workload.
• Monitor workshop progress to ensure jobs are completed within agreed timescales.
• Liaise with Service Advisors and the Aftersales team to communicate job progress.
• Monitor technician productivity, efficiency and performance.
• Support technicians with operational and technical queries.
• Ensure high standards of workmanship, quality and health and safety.
• Help maximise workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction.
