Job summary

Costain Group is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead wastewater process optimisation across our Northern water sector frameworks. Based in the North West, you will guide asset optimisation projects and direct teams to deliver pragmatic, compliant process solutions for multiple clients.

The role is primarily home-based with site attendance as needed, offering strategic consultancy, technical direction, and an opportunity to grow our AMP Framework capability.

Qualifications

• Significant UK wastewater design, operation and optimisation experience.
• Experience delivering projects within water sector frameworks.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams with accountability for quality and delivery.
• Background in engineering consultancy or contracting environment.
• Proactive, self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as focal point for process discipline within water sector frameworks.
• Direct teams delivering process deliverables on time and on budget.
• Provide technical assurance during design development.
• Lead thought leadership and strategic advisory to clients.
• Collaborate with BD/marketing to develop and tender new opportunities.
• Grow team capability and service to AMP frameworks.
