Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal or Associate Engineer to support project delivery and supervise tasks and deliverables. You will develop urban drainage modelling capability, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the wastewater team on current and future projects.

The role emphasizes independent judgement and innovative problem solving while maintaining strong client relationships. You will work within a dynamic water team, collaborating across UK offices, with opportunities to lead and influence

Qualifications

• A relevant degree and chartered, or significantly progressed on your journey in pursuing qualification with ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM.
• Experience with wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM) and ability to check the technical outputs of others prior to issue.
• Good working knowledge of Water Industry Specifications, Code of Practice for the Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems and relevant British Standards.
• Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Support team leads in managing project delivery, including supervision of tasks and review of deliverables.
• Develop the urban drainage modelling capability and train junior team members.
• Support the team lead in managing the local technical delivery team.
• Provide technical input on urban drainage projects and support wastewater team in delivering current and future projects.
• Apply expertise to improve technical quality and service efficiency.
• Exercise independent engineering judgement and provide innovative solutions to engineering problems.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and coordinate project meetings.
• Participate in business development and proposal preparation.
• Promote the WSP brand through industry forums and conferences.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
