Job summary

Last Mile in the Southeast England region is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager (Utilities) to lead strategic growth across electricity, gas, heat, and water-related services. You will manage a team of Multi-Utility Business Development Managers, drive major project opportunities, and build strong client relationships with regulators and partners.

The role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and commercial acumen within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development or commercial leadership within utilities.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure delivery models and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated success in securing complex contracts or partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a sector-focused growth strategy across utilities.
• Build relationships with clients, regulators and partners.
• Lead pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with internal teams.
• Oversee major projects and support bids with cross-functional teams.
• Mentor and lead the BD team to win opportunities.
• Monitor pipeline performance and drive continuous improvement.
