Job summary

WSP in the UK invites an Associate Director to join the Transport and Mobility Team with flexible location across the UK, including Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester or Newcastle. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on transport planning and traffic engineering on nationally significant projects, with a hybrid working policy.

You will collaborate across civil design, environment, infrastructure planning, and project management, leading key proposals and mentoring

Qualifications

• Experience managing transport assessments for major projects.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in hybrid/virtual settings.
• Experience engaging stakeholders across authorities and transport bodies.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Strong numerical, spatial and analytical skills with MS Office.
• Excellent knowledge of transport policy at local, regional and national levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical management and commercial responsibility for our transport work on major infrastructure programmes and lead the co-ordination of new proposals.
• Contribute to the development of medium / long term growth strategies and trend forecasts to inform future business investment and direction.
• Lead cross discipline collaboration by example and improve opportunities for intra-business connectivity across the UK and beyond.
• Take personal responsibility for wellbeing, health and safety and act as a role model for direct reports and project staff.
• Keep up to date with relevant standards and policies
• Raise WSP profile by networking, social media and attending conferences as required.
