Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate Director to join our Transport and Mobility Team. This senior role offers hybrid working with offices across the UK, including Edinburgh, and national project involvement in transport planning and traffic engineering.

You will lead major infrastructure programmes, manage multi-disciplinary teams and drive growth strategies while engaging diverse stakeholders across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing and coordinating all aspects of transport assessments, management strategies and infrastructure design advice for major and/or complex projects.
• Experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects and engaging large teams in a hybrid/virtual environment.
• Experience engaging stakeholders at various levels including local highway and planning authorities, planning inspectorate, DfT, other transport bodies and local communities.
• Effective communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills; adaptability to navigate change with strong negotiation, collaboration and organisational skills.
• Strong numerical, spatial, and analytical skills with excellent MS Office knowledge.
• Excellent knowledge of current transport policy at sub-regional, regional and national level and familiarity with planning consent processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical management and take commercial responsibility for our transport work on major infrastructure programmes and projects and lead the co-ordination of new proposals.
• Contribute to the development of medium / long term growth strategies and trend forecasts to inform future business investment and direction.
• Lead cross discipline collaboration by example and improve opportunities for intra-business connectivity across the UK and beyond.
• Take personal responsibility for wellbeing, health and safety and act as a role model for direct reports and project staff.
• Keep up to date with relevant standards and policies.
• Raise WSP profile by networking, social media and attending conferences as required.
