Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Director to join the Transport and Mobility Team. Location is flexible to include Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester or Newcastle with hybrid working.

You will deliver transport planning and traffic engineering services on nationally significant projects across England, Scotland and Wales, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. You will lead proposals, manage teams, engage stakeholders, and drive growth while focusing on UK sectors including

Qualifications

• Experience managing and coordinating transport assessments, management strategies, and infrastructure design advice for major/complex projects.
• Experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects and leading large teams in hybrid/virtual environments.
• Experience engaging stakeholders at local highway authorities, planning inspectorate, DfT, transport bodies, and communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical management and take commercial responsibility for transport work on major infrastructure programmes and projects; coordinate new proposals.
• Contribute to development of medium/long-term growth strategies and forecasts for future investments.
• Lead cross-discipline collaboration to improve connectivity across the UK and beyond.
• Ensure wellbeing, health and safety; model good practices for staff and project teams.
• Keep up to date with relevant standards and policies; network and attend conferences as required.
