Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Director to join the Transport and Mobility Team. You will work across the UK delivering transport planning and traffic engineering services on nationally significant projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid work model.

You will lead technical management, coordinate proposals, grow growth strategies and mentor staff while upholding safety and standards. Flexible location across UK offices is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing and coordinating all aspects of transport assessments, management strategies and infrastructure design advice for major and/or complex projects.
• Experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects and engaging large teams in hybrid/virtual environments.
• Experience engaging stakeholders at various levels including local highway and planning authorities, planning inspectorate, DfT, other transport bodies and local communities.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills with adaptability to change.
• Strong numerical, spatial, and analytical skills and knowledge of MS Office tools.
• Excellent knowledge of current transport policy at sub-regional, regional and national level.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical management and take commercial responsibility for transport work on major infrastructure programmes and projects; coordinate new proposals.
• Contribute to development of medium/long-term growth strategies and trend forecasts to inform future business investment.
• Lead cross-discipline collaboration across the UK and beyond for integrated projects.
• Promote wellbeing, health and safety; act as role model for staff.
• Stay up-to-date with relevant standards and policies; ensure compliance.
• Raise WSP profile through networking, conferences and external engagement.
