Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join the Newcastle/Gateshead team. You will lead development planning and manage client relationships across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, delivering Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, coordinating with authorities and stakeholders, and supporting bids to grow the North East practice in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in development planning within a transport planning consultancy.
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system and development planning processes.
• Experience liaising with clients, developers and Local Highway Authorities.
• Strong technical report-writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues.

Responsabilités

• Lead and deliver development planning projects from feasibility through to planning approval.
• Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Undertake access appraisals, junction capacity assessments and transport modelling.
• Provide strategic transport advice to developers, clients and project teams.
• Liaise with Local Highway Authorities, planning authorities and wider stakeholders.
• Manage project programmes, technical deliverables and client relationships.
• Support and mentoring of junior team members.
• Contribute to bids, business development and new client relationships.
• Help drive project delivery and growth of the North East team.
