Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Newcastle/Gateshead is seeking a Senior/Principal Transport Planner to lead development planning projects and deliver transport assessments, statements and travel plans for a varied client base.

You will manage client relationships, mentor junior staff and drive bids and growth within the North East team, with hybrid working arrangements and access to a diverse project portfolio across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience in development planning within a transport consultancy.
• Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Mentoring junior colleagues is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering development planning projects from feasibility through to planning approval
• Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
• Undertaking access appraisals, junction capacity assessments and transport modelling
• Providing strategic transport advice to developers, clients and project teams
• Liaising with Local Highway Authorities, planning authorities and wider stakeholders
• Managing project programmes, technical deliverables and client relationships
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
• Contributing to bids, business development and the development of new client relationships
• Helping drive project delivery and support the continued growth of the North East team
