Job summary

White Recruitment Limited in Ringwood is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee a busy transport operation. This hands-on role requires strong leadership of drivers and transport staff, and a solid understanding of transport legislation and compliance.

You will plan schedules, monitor performance, manage incidents, and drive improvements while maintaining high safety and service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CPC Transport Manager certification required.
• Experience leading drivers and transport staff.
• Strong knowledge of UK transport legislation and driver regs.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day transport operation to ensure an efficient, reliable service.
• Lead, motivate and manage drivers and transport staff.
• Plan and coordinate vehicle and driver schedules to maximise efficiency.
• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and company policies.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle, driver and operational compliance.
• Monitor transport performance, costs and KPIs.
• Manage driver hours, working time and tachograph compliance.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance, inspections and repairs.
• Investigate incidents and operational issues as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service levels.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Support policy development and implementation.
• Provide leadership during high-demand periods.
