Job summary

212 Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a client in the UK for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimise a busy logistics operation. This is a hands‑on role with ownership of compliance, fleet performance and driver management.

You will drive day‑to‑day transport efficiency, lead the team, and deliver continuous improvements across processes and standards within a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential).
• Strong knowledge of Operator Licence obligations.
• Understanding of DVSA regulations, vehicle roadworthiness and driver hours.
• Experience managing compliance systems such as tachograph analysis and maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, scheduling and delivery performance.
• Lead, support and develop drivers and transport staff.
• Maintain full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachographs, Working Time Directive and vehicle safety.
• Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections and defect reporting.
• Monitor KPIs such as delivery performance, cost control and utilisation.
• Ensure accurate record‑keeping for audits and regulatory checks.
• Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and customers to resolve transport related issues.
• Drive continuous improvement across transport processes and standards.
