Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of Iberdrola Group, is recruiting a Lead Engineering Project Manager for Core Projects Design at Cambuslang, Glasgow. You will lead transmission design across substations, OHL, and cables, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory alignment.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and manage external design contractors to deliver high-value projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer or working towards membership of a professional institution.
• Experience leading transmission infrastructure design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering design process for transmission projects from concept to detailed design.
• Coordinate basic and detailed engineering specs for civils, main plant, P&C, OHL, cables.
• Mentor and coach Project Engineers and Project Managers as SME for design lifecycle.
• Coordinate internal/external design resources and ensure governance compliance.
• Support budget preparation and tender evaluation for engineering deliverables.
• Interface with stakeholders including Asset Management, Delivery, Regulation and external partners.
