Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a senior Telecoms Design Lead for rail infrastructure. You will manage design delivery across a portfolio, lead multidisciplinary teams and present technical concepts to clients, stakeholders and project teams.

You will drive bid support, develop fee estimates, and supervise staff development while coordinating telecoms interfaces within broader design efforts across UK rail projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronic or communications discipline; chartered membership preferred.
• Proven track record of technical leadership on telecoms projects.
• Extensive experience leading telecoms and control systems design across UK and overseas.
• Knowledge of system integration including telecoms subsystems and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production of telecoms system designs across multiple projects and design stages.
• Support bids and tenders by developing fee estimates and proposal content.
• Lead design delivery and manage interfaces with wider project teams.
• Present designs to clients and stakeholders, illustrating concepts and constraints.
• Line manage team members and support staff training and development.
• Collaborate within multi-discipline teams to ensure telecoms requirements are incorporated in overall designs.
