What you’ll do
  • Manage, empower, and support team members, provide mentorship, development and delegate responsibilities while encouraging progression and retention.
  • Support the Heads of Delivery and Technology in delivering the teams objectives and strategy while helping to shape the future direction.
  • Manage the evaluation of potential data tooling capabilities and coordinate the relating proof of concepts through to implementation.
  • Own the creation of business cases to illustrate benefits and achieve extra investment, driven through internal teams and external vendors.
  • Responsible for the management and tracking of costs and risks, providing the relevant mechanisms to enable mitigation and control.
  • Able to lead and formulate impact assessments and challenge with knowledge and experience on proposed quotes for work and delivery.
Who you are
  • Exposure to coordinating platform upgrades, crucial maintenance, hardware, and software enhancements.
  • Experience working within an Agile delivery framework.
  • Extensive project management background, across multiple delivery models, and able to apply those approaches appropriately for the various project, programmes and product delivery management
  • Experience in service management, with a service first approach to delivery.
  • Knowledge of leading large multi-faceted technology transformation activities.
  • Experience delivering large-scale initiatives across multiple teams and functions
  • Job knowledge – specialist skills, experiences, qualifications, specific systems or practices relevant to the role, latest function specific knowledge
  • Business knowledge – level of commercial awareness, economic, commercial, political experience, industry specific knowledge to differentiate M&S from competitors
  • Problem solving – analytical skills, ability to advise, lead and deliver solutions that go beyond existing ways of doing things
  • People & Leadership skills – communications, leadership and talent development skills.
Essential
  • Experience of operational activities and technology within Automated warehouses
  • A passion for problem solving and fixing existing issues once and for all
  • An open mind and desire to think of new ways to do things rather than just sticking with the status quo
  • Good organisation skills and focused approach to project activity
  • Ability to understand operational data, metrics and performance measures
