Job summary

Egis is seeking a Technical Analysis Lead to independently assure schedules, delay events and programme changes within a multi‑billion-pound portfolio. You will serve as a technical authority for governance forums and senior leadership, translating analysis into clear insights for decision makers.

Based in the UK, the role offers hybrid working with a mix of office, site attendance and remote collaboration as the project requires.

Qualifications

• Strong background in programme controls, schedule analysis and forensic planning techniques.
• Experience of delivery and management on transmission projects within a regulated environment.
• Proven experience providing independent technical assurance on complex infrastructure programmes.
• Advanced knowledge of critical-path analysis, delay analysis methodologies and schedule diagnostics.
• Expert capability in planning tools and techniques, particularly Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of NEC programming, early warnings and compensation event impacts.
• Ability to challenge planning assumptions, evidence and modelling logic with strong analytical capability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including translating complex analysis into clear insight for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent technical assurance of delay events from a programme and schedule perspective, testing cause, effect and critical-path impact.
• Validate the quality and completeness of contemporaneous evidence and challenge assumptions, logic, sequencing and modelling approaches.
• Assess schedule structure, logic integrity, constraints, float paths and interfaces, identifying weaknesses and unrealistic assumptions.
• Test schedule robustness at baseline, re-baseline and recovery stages, providing early warning of technical schedule risk.
• Evaluate tender and proposal schedules, benchmarking durations, productivity assumptions and sequencing against established norms.
• Identify optimism bias, under-developed logic and high-risk assumptions, presenting clear evidence-based findings to commercial and governance teams.
• Support decisions on change, intervention, re-baselining and recovery strategy, clearly separating technical fact from opinion or assumption.
• Translate assurance outputs and performance data into programme and portfolio insight, including trends, recurring weaknesses and systemic issues.
• Share learning, comparative analysis and benchmarking across projects and contractors to support delivery excellence.
