Job summary

Washwood Heath Academy in Birmingham is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the Inclusion team in the Secondary Phase. The post supports students with SEND and EAL, helps teachers raise attainment, and promotes independence and social inclusion.

Flexible, inclusive practice is valued, with opportunities for CPD and staff wellbeing initiatives. The role includes duties such as assessment support, structured activities, and providing cover, with onsite parking and access to LGPS pension

Qualifications

• Supports students with SEND and EAL needs in class and out of class
• Works with class teachers to raise learning and attainment
• Promotes students' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
• Provides support to students individually or in groups to access the curriculum

Responsibilities

• Contributing to assessment and planning by supporting monitoring, recording and reporting pupil performance
• Devising clearly structured activities to interest and motivate learners
• Providing cover for colleagues when required
• Providing high quality learning resources through adaptations and differentiation
• Liaising with parents/carers/outside agencies as appropriate
• Communicating knowledge of students to other school staff and professionals for informed intervention decisions
