Job summary

Washwood Heath Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the Inclusion team in the Secondary Phase. You will support students with learning needs to access the curriculum, work with class teachers to raise attainment, and promote independence and social inclusion.

Starting as soon as possible, you will collaborate with staff to monitor pupil progress, plan structured activities, and provide targeted support in class and beyond. Onsite parking is available for staff at all sites.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to effective assessment and planning by supporting the monitoring, recording and reporting of pupil performance and progress as appropriate to the level of the role
• Using allocated time to devise clearly structured activities that interest and motivate learners and advance their learning
• Providing cover for colleagues when required
• Providing high quality learning resources for all students though the use of adaptations and differentiation
• Liaising with parents/carers/outside agencies where appropriate
• Communicating their knowledge and understanding of students to other school staff and education, health and social care professionals, so that informed decision making can take place on intervention and provision
