Job summary

Penny Bridge C Of E Academy in Ulverston is seeking a Senior Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across Reception/Year One, including 1-1 maths support. The role is 25-30 hours per week, term-time, fixed-term with potential extension. Immediate start.

You will work under supervision to maximise pupil development and contribute to safeguarding and inclusive practice. Experience in small groups, Level 3 TA qualification, and collaborative team work are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience leading small groups or working with individuals.
• Ability to support maths in early years and key stage 1.

Responsibilities

Senior Teaching Assistant

Grade: PCD7 - Grade 7, SCP12-14

25-30 hours per week, 5 days a week: hours can be negotiated. This position is Fixed Term in the first instance with potential for a longer contract at the end of the current academic year, pending budget considerations. IMMEDIATE START

Main Purpose:

Within an agreed system of supervision, work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing specialist support to maximise pupil development and achievement. Some of this role would be in our Reception/Year One class. There would also be some 1-1 support in mathematics across the school.

Roles at this level will be expected to carry out specified work. Senior Teaching Assistants may also supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
