Job summary

Newbarns Primary and Nursery School invites applications for a Temporary Teaching Assistant to join our KS1 team. The post is from 2nd November 2025 to 31st August 2026, 30.40 hours per week, 8.40am to 3.15pm, Mon-Fri, with a 30 minute lunch break.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in a Primary School setting who can support children with SEN under the guidance of the SENCO. A relevant QCF Level 2 qualification is essential and visits are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Essential: A relevant QCF recognised Level 2 qualification.
• Experience of working with children in a Primary School setting would be advantageous.
• Experience in supporting children with SEN would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

A vacancy has arisen in our popular and highly successful Primary & Nursery School and we are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our hard-working, dedicated staff team.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a large and friendly school that is extremely well resourced.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of the KS1 team, under the guidance of the SENCO.

We are looking for a candidate who has experience of working with children in a Primary School setting; who can bring their own skills and interests to enhance the life of the school; is flexible and highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and works well as part of a team. Experience in supporting children with SEN would be an advantage.

Visits to the school and/or discussions with members of the Senior Leadership Team are positively encouraged.

Essential qualifications: A relevant QCF recognised Level 2 qualification.
