Job summary

Peters Dean Care Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Support Worker for a service providing supported accommodation for young people aged 16-18. You will lead shifts, support day-to-day operations, and help residents develop independent living skills in a safe, welcoming home across three sites in Bognor Regis and Worthing.

You’ll play a key role in safeguarding, recording accurate information, and mentoring junior staff while progressing toward team leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Experience leading shifts and supporting young people in a care setting.
• Ability to build positive relationships and maintain a calm, supportive environment.
• Strong communication and record-keeping to ensure accurate handovers and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day running of the home during your shift.
• Build trusting relationships and provide practical and emotional support.
• Help young people develop independent living skills (cooking, budgeting, routines).
• Support wellbeing, relationships and decision-making.
• Supervise shifts, guide colleagues and ensure tasks meet standards.
• Complete handovers and daily/incident records, follow safeguarding procedures.
