Job summary

The Senior Support Worker role in Manchester/Oldham (WA15/OL7) is a permanent, full-time position offering stable hours and clear progression into leadership. Aimed at experienced care professionals, you will support individuals with complex needs and guide teams to maintain high standards of care.

You will lead shifts, implement de-escalation strategies, promote least restrictive practices and contribute to care planning and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Senior position; care industry experience essential.
• Experience with complex care and behaviours that challenge; safeguarding and risk assessments.
• Experience supervising or supporting other care workers is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 complex care packages advantageous.
• Previous experience of physical intervention within a care environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support other Support Workers, promote safe, consistent practice and provide calm leadership during escalations.
• Support complex care packages at 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 staffing levels.
• Ensure care plans, behavioural strategies, risk assessments and support approaches are followed.
• Escalate changes in risk to senior management or clinical teams as needed.
• Support new team members through shadowing and competency development.
