Job summary

Your Education Supply Ltd in Derby is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our care team. The role combines hands-on care with additional responsibility during shifts, including mentoring other workers and guiding safe, consistent practice.

You will lead with calm leadership during behavioural escalations, oversee risk assessments and ensure high-quality documentation. A permanent contract and progression opportunities are available, with a clear pathway toward management.

Qualifications

• Senior position; previous experience within care is essential.
• Experience with complex care, behaviours that challenge, physical aggression, behavioural escalation.
• Experience supervising or supporting other care workers is highly desirable.
• Experience working with complex care packages 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 would be advantageous.
• Previous experience of appropriate physical intervention or restraint within a care environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership during shifts and support other team members.
• Ensure care plans, behavioural strategies, risk assessments and agreed approaches are followed.
• Recognise behavioural changes and implement preventative and de-escalation strategies.
• Elevate changes in risk or presentation to senior management or clinical teams when needed.
• Support new team members through shadowing and competency development.
