Job summary

AWE plc is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Development Manager in Reading. The role sits within a new Supply Chain Development team and focuses on establishing enterprise-wide supply chain capability, governance, and supplier engagement for the weapons replacement programme.

Hybrid working is offered with flexible hours. You will lead frameworks, standards, and tools to strengthen supplier relationships, improve performance, and position AWE as a Client of Choice while championing sustainability

Qualifications

• Experience in developing strategy for supply chain development and SRM.
• Ability to design and implement governance frameworks, policies, and operating models.
• Experience incorporating sustainability, ESG, social value, and SME participation objectives into procurement strategies.
• Strong ability to influence senior leaders, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a robust supplier governance methodology and SRM framework.
• Drive supplier segmentation and performance management across AWE.
• Create and maintain supply chain policies, procedures, standards, tools, and templates.
• Lead improvements in supplier relationship maturity and embed best-practice principles.
• Deliver initiatives to strengthen Client of Choice position in key markets.
• Plan and deliver supplier engagement programmes, forums, and communications.
• Embed ESG, supplier diversity, and social value into development activities.
• Build a high-performing Supply Chain Development Team.
