Job summary

AWE plc is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Development Manager to lead the newly formed team in Reading. The role focuses on enabling the Commercial function with enterprise-wide supply chain development and governance during a period of procurement and tendering activity for complex programmes.

The role reports to the Principal Supply Chain Development Manager and emphasizes building supplier relationships, introducing frameworks, and embedding ESG and social value into procurement practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in supply chain development and SRM.
• Experience developing strategy with a focus on supply chain development.
• Experience designing and implementing governance frameworks, policies, and operating models.
• Experience embedding sustainability, ESG, social value, and SME participation into procurement strategies.
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a robust SRM framework to support strategic objectives.
• Ensure consistent supplier segmentation and performance management across AWE.
• Create and maintain supply chain policies, procedures, standards, tools, and templates.
• Drive improvements in supplier relationship maturity and embedding best practices.
• Deliver supplier engagement programmes and communications to key stakeholders.
• Embed ESG and social value considerations into procurement and supply chain activities.
• Develop a high-performing Supply Chain Development Team.
