Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to join our Offshore AC Project Engineering team, delivering island projects and connecting to HVDC systems. You will help drive a clean energy future with state-of-the-art AC plant and grid control technologies.

The role requires experience in transmission substations up to 400kV, with design review, FATs and on-site installation support. A degree in Electrical Engineering and Chartered status are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in transmission level substation projects and factory acceptance testing.
• Ability to review designs and assess technical solutions.
• Understanding of Design, Construction and Electrical safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create outline scope, site location plans and substation layout up to 400kV.
• Review contractor designs and witness FATs.
• Implement safety by design to control engineering risks.
• Support site teams to ensure quality installations with minimal network risk.
• Evaluate tenders and manage specialist consultants.
