Job summary

Safran Landing Systems is seeking a Senior Stress Analysis Engineer in Gloucester. You will lead structural analyses to ensure the safety and performance of aircraft landing gear throughout development and production.

You will combine analytical calculations, FEA, fatigue assessments and test data to support robust engineering decisions, while collaborating with design, test and manufacturing teams. Mentorship and method development are also part of the role.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience in structural analysis, including classical stress, fatigue and finite element analysis.
• Experience delivering complex engineering analysis projects and selecting appropriate methods, assumptions and approaches.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, load cases and material data to develop sound engineering solutions.
• Experience combining analysis, testing, manufacturing and design information to support evidence-based decisions.
• Background in aerospace, landing gear or a similar complex structural engineering environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to present to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers in technical work.
• Knowledge of certification, qualification and regulatory requirements or analysis process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced structural analyses to ensure the integrity of landing gear systems.
• Deliver structural assessments using analytical methods, FEA and fatigue evaluations.
• Collaborate with Design, Test, Manufacturing and Programme teams to influence decisions.
