Job summary

Asda is seeking an Operations Manager in Eastbourne to lead store operations, drive availability, reduce waste and shrink, and coach a team of managers across Ambient, Fresh, and General Merchandise in large-format stores.

You will embed routines, manage wage controls, and review processes to deliver strong metrics and a customer-centric shopping experience, while leading with empathy and transparent decision-making in a high-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing diverse teams in a large-format retail environment.
• Strong operational knowledge across food and non-food departments.
• Track record of improving availability, reducing waste, and managing shrink.
• Confidence in developing large teams and managing change through leadership.
• Experience managing ER cases and understanding HR policies and processes.
• Strong organisational skills and exceeding customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent execution across the store and embed routines for availability, waste, and shrink.
• Lead and coach managers and teams to achieve high store standards across Ambient, Fresh, and GM areas.
• Review store processes to drive KRAs and metrics while adhering to contract base management and wage controls.
• Coach through questions, empower teams, and foster a culture of customer-first service with heart and pride.
