Job summary

The Queen at Chester Hotel is seeking a talented and motivated senior Sous Chef to join our culinary team and play a key role in delivering consistently high‑quality food across the hotel.

Working closely with the Executive Head Chef, you will help lead the kitchen team, bringing structure, calm and confidence to daily operations. You will support menu delivery, uphold quality and presentation standards, and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, particularly in the Exutive Head Chef’s absence.

Qualifications

• Experience as a senior sous chef or strong senior chef de partie.
• Experience leading a busy kitchen team.
• Commitment to high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Calm, organised and capable under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Take responsibility in the Executive Head Chef's absence.
• Oversee food preparation to ensure high-standard dishes.
• Follow standard recipes and manage food cost control.
• Lead and support the kitchen team during service.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Maintain a calm, organised kitchen environment.
• Encourage teamwork and continuous improvement.
