IonQ, Inc. in Oxford is seeking a highly technical Senior Software Engineer to join the System Orchestration team in System Software at Oxford Ionics.

You will build and operate software that calibrates, schedules, and records quantum programs across our fleet of trapped-ion systems. You’ll own device controllers end to end, design robust services, and collaborate with systems engineers and scientists to keep quantum computers running with high fidelity.

Qualifikationen

• Experience building stateful services that stay correct under failure.
• Ability to own a problem area with little supervision.
• Strong communication across disciplines.

• Own a group of device controllers end to end, including API design and health.
• Make services robust against instrument failures.
• Bring devices onto our framework across the fleet without disrupting experiments.
• Improve shared framework to generalize common problems.
• Collaborate with systems and scientists to boost observability and alerts.
• Mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews.
